It took me long to make an updated post due to the fact that I have been very busy trying to keep up with the recession of our economy in the US. Everyday the first thing in the morning when I wake up setting down on the table having a cup of coffee, both my husband and I are trying to come up with an idea and solution how to cut down things to meet our financial budget. So far so good! We talk things out and resolve the circumstances in our daily life activities. My only wish is having a continuous good strength to keep up with it. Keeping a positive attitude, pray and have faith in god is the best thing you could do to have a peace of mind. Whatever consequences it is, I am still thankful to god for having a good health and receiving grace everyday of my life.

You have to remember, "Life is to short...!" So, live life to the fullest and be thankful to god...

D'ya NoVei' (16) a Filipina-American was born in the United States of America. Growing up in Las Vegas, Nevada, “The Entertainment Capital of the World”, D'ya NoVei' watched her mother sing and dance on stage and was inspired to pursue her own career in the music industry. D'ya started to show talent as an artist as early as 7 years old! However, D'ya still pursued her other talents by attending AMTC where she made special live performances to highlight her talents in different categories such as; singing, spokes model, monologue, television commercial, photography and creative fashion print held at Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando, Florida. She also did a nationwide TV commercial at the age of thirteen (13). Other special performances includes, an opening act for Jesse McCartney for Summer Jam '09 at the Henderson Pavilion, Girls’ Days Out (modeling, singing and dancing) South Point Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, The Kids Mix Las Vegas 2008 (modeling, singing and dance), Fashion Show Mall at Dillard's Las Vegas, Nevada(modeling) and many International performances. D'ya recently received an Appreciation award from her fan club in Cebu, Philippines for sharing her God-given talent in singing.

Today, D'ya NoVei' is a solo-artist signed under GameStar. Not only does her passion show her determination of her love of music but also, her explosive personality will get anyone going and become an instant fan!

Once again, I got back from my trip back home in Cebu, Philippines on November 7, 2009. During my travel I have investigated and did some serious research for my Real Estate Investment Property. I have gathered a lot of ideas, suggestions, advices from Real Estate Developer and Investors. This is so exciting! And I never thought that I would own such a large area of land that I can create and make plans for upcoming project for this property. The land area of the mountain consist over 27 hectares (271,953 square meters). Currently, I am looking for Investors to develop the property. Oh..! How I wish I can bring the "Las Vegas Strip" to my property. You'll never know..? Well, I never thought I would own this size of a property so I guess anything is possible!

As I mentioned from my previous post that I will be showing you some images of the property that I acquired (my mountain). This property is located between the Hilltop of Bulacao and Lagtang, Talisay City, on the Island of Cebu, Philippines. It's adjacent to Sta. Lucia Elite Housing Development (developed by Sta. Lucia Realty and Development, Inc.). It is also located directly across from a Premier Subdivision called VISTA GRANDE: The Pacific Heights and KRISHANTA Subdivision (developed by Aboitizland). The property consists of an area a little over 27 hectares (271,953 square meters to be exact). Fresh air with a nice view of the City, the ocean and Bohol island. Approximately between 5-10 minutes from SRP South entrance, 15-20 minutes to SM City Mall via SRP, 8 minutes to new Robinson Supermarket in Lawa-an and 12 minutes to Gaisano Fiesta Mall Tabunok. Time went by really fast! I celebrated my 40th birthday yesterday (December 2nd)! It doesn't seem like I am 40 years old..? I'm still confused up to now that I really am climbing up to the hills and hoping that it doesn't go way too fast! Haaaaa... Huh! It's like you took a quick nap and then you didn't realized that you woke up the next morning? lol.. But you know what? I feel no different about myself! I think it's awesome to keep on taking another step each birthday to discover and venture the next path. So far so good... For me, age is only numbers and what matter's the most is how you feel inside and out about yourself! The great thing in celebrating your birthday is you feel really special that day and you get to celebrate it with your loved ones. My hubby and my daughter (DeAnn) took me out to dinner at Benihana Village Japanese Restaurant in Las Vegas Hilton and invited some friends to join with us!

As you all noticed, it has been quite long that I have not done any posting. I just now have a chance to share my great adventures from my travels and explore other source of investment. I have a great news to all my readers! During my travels for the past few months, these recent trips of mine I have found a great investment that I can finally set my family in a better bright future. I purchased a 27 hectares land with an awesome ocean view and mountains and the best part is next to an elite community real estate development called "Krishanta Subdivision and Vista Grande Subdivision" in Talisay City, Cebu, Philippines . I am so overwhelmed with the great financial opportunity that I can have later. Like everybody else say, "Life Begins at 40" and I am taking a good steps for my next stage of my life! I thank god for all the grace and rewards that has given to me and with my family. Of course, to my late father "Rico", brother Arniel "Cocoy" and brother "Adonis. They will always be remembered...

A Place Where I Can Come Home

This is the house where I can come home in Cebu, Philippines located in Talisay City. It was built on 2004. This house is one of my biggest accomplishment that I have done for myself and for my family back home in the Philippines! A place where I can proudly say "My home sweet home". It is very safe, spacious and comfortable! A place where I can bring my own family and stay there comfortably during our yearly visit to the Philippines. Although, it's not in a fancy neighborhood subdivision but me and my family feel safe and secured! This is where I grew up to learn, witness the real life and real world. Sometimes I feel sad to even think about that I don't live there permanently! I have my own life and family now who lived a thousand miles away from my siblings and my only parent Mama Lita. But, it's comforting to know that my family and I have a house to come home, knowing that we still have almost the same people who still lived there except they're expanding family generations. It is a good feeling that myself and my family able to mingle with families and relatives around the neighborhood. This neighborhood community is part of my life! This is the original location where both of my parents lived and raised us. My father died in a tragic death and I promised him that I will take care of the house and it will be better than it was! Since his death everyday of my life it is always in my heart and mind that I have to make it happen. It is not an easy road for me to make things happen. But, I have made it and that is all what matter to me. I'm sure my father is happy and can rest peacefully.

Michael Jackson's Death Brought A Tragic Shock...

Michael Jackson suffered cardiac arrest in his home early this afternoon. Paramedics tried to resuscitate him at his home for nearly three-quarters of an hour, then rushed him to the hospital at UCLA Medical Center, where doctors continued to work on him. Michael was pronounced dead at approximately around 2:26 PM (Pacific Time). The cause of his death is unknown until results of the autopsy are known. Hundreds of people gathered and mourning outside the hospital.

This is so tragic and shocking to millions of fans all over the world! Michael is an inspiration and an icon to all musicians in the industry. A huge lost! I have always admired his originality and mystery. I am his number one fan eversince I can remember! I love listening to his music and truly enjoyed watching the videos from his concerts. There's nobody out there like Michael Jackson! A true legend, the greatest, magical, smashing energy and brilliant in his legacy! He is truly "The King of Pop".

Michael, you will always be remembered forever... You will be missed...!

Danny Gans "The Man Of Many Voices" Died Today Of Unknown Causes

Danny Gans singer, comedian and a musical impressionist, died today after he complained of shortness of breath around early morning. By the time any help could arrive he had already passed away. The cause of his death is still unknown. Danny Gans was the headliner on the Las Vegas Strip and the surrounding area for many years, where he was billed as "The Man of Many Voices". He had been named Entertainer of the Year, and his production had also been awarded Show of the Year. In 1992 he played Dean Martin in the CBS miniseries Sinatra.

The Las Vegas Strip marquee now bearing Danny Gans’ image is the largest freestanding marquee in the world. In April 2007, a delegation of Kentucky Colonels went to Las Vegas and presented him with the Kentucky Colonel award.

3 C water

2 T oil
2 C additional water
1 tsp minced garlic
Salt and pepper to taste
¼ C chopped onion
1 T bagoong (fermented shrimp paste)
2 tomatoes, cubed
½ lb spinach or watercress leaves

Boil mung beans in 3 C water till tender. In another pan, brown garlic and onion. Add shrimp paste, tomatoes and cook till soft. Add pork, and cook till tender. Add shrimps and cook for an additional 5 min. Add boiled mung beans and 2 C water to sauteed mixture. Bring to a boil again. Season with salt and pepper. Add spinach immediately after mixture comes to boil. Serve hot over rice.

Returning Back In The U.S.A.

I am finally back home in the U.S. from my trip to the Philippines due to the tragic death of my brother ARNIEL aka "Cocoy". It was not an easy flight thinking that I will get there just in time, hoping for a chance to talk to him and able to say goodbye! I cannot stop thinking about my brother that he died at a very young age (35) and such a real good individual. Still up to now, I have a hard time convincing myself because it was so sudden! I cannot explain the pain in my heart, so empty and kept asking myself why...? why...? why him...?

I find it so hard and so difficult for me to leave home (Cebu) going back to the U.S. knowing that in my next visit, my brother "Cocoy" will no longer there to pick me up at the airport and making sure that I am taking care of. What hurts me the most is I lost my very best friend who listen, my shoulder to cry on and lean on when I'm down. And each time I visit back home in the Philippines with or without my family with me, he was buddy and assistant in every places I go to see! A good person that I can reach on that I know I can trust and count on all the time on things that needs to be done. A person who put so much time and effort making sure things are done right so I will enjoy every of my visit. As you noticed, I haven't been posting and updating my website for the past few days! On Feb. 23, I had to fly back in the Philippines due to a family emergency. My brother ARNIEL (Cocoy) was in critical condition and eventually died on Feb. 27, 2009. He was diagnosed with a deadly disease Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) a year ago and had developed Liver Cirrhosis. He died at the age of 35. He left 3 young children and wife. It is so sad to even think that the kids (my nieces and nephew) are now going through hard times at a very young ages and could not believe that they lost their loving father! My brother is such a very generous man, kind and very respectful. Died at a very young age it is so difficult to think about and accept the fact that he is no longer with us anymore! I am so torn apart with his death...! I missed him so much...!!!

The police officer said ...to be sure to manually lock your car door-by hitting the lock button inside the car as you exit your vehicle, that way if there is someone sitting in a parking lot watching for their next victim, it will not be you. When you hit the lock button inside your car upon exiting...it does not send the security code. But if you walk away and use the door lock on your key chain, it sends the code through the airwaves where it can be stolen. Something totally new to us...and real. Be aware of this, and please pass this note on. Look how many times we all lock our doors with our keys...just to be sure we remembered to lock them. And bingo....someone has our code...and whatever was in the car will be gone!

A friend of mine made this desert and it's delicious! She gave me the recipe for me to try and I thought I should share it to everyone! This ingredients is for 6 servings.

Syrup:
3 oz. granulated sugar
6 oz. of water
1 oz. coffee extract
1 cup Marsala wine

Making the syrup:
Put water and sugar in a small pan, bring into boil and cool. Mix in extract and wine.

Cream:
6 egg yolks
9 oz. granulated sugar
1 lb. mascarpone cheese
3 cups whipping cream

Making the cream:
In bowl, whip the cream to soft peaks. In a different bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy, and then add mascarpone cheese with a spatula very slowly. Gently combine.

Garnish:
Cocoa powder

Biscotti:
1 box of Savoiardi

Making the tiramisu:
In a deep dish, start by spreading some cream. Layer some BISCOTTI over cream then brush with coffee syrup. Spread more cream over Biscotti and repeat until everything has been used.

Before serving don't forget to sprinkle cocoa powder over tiramisu, cut into portions then plate.

Have a cup of Cappuccino, relax and enjoy the desert!

My Family Hawaiian Getaway

Aloha! Finally, the family were able to go for an Hawaiian get away! This was our family dream vacation and we had so much fun! We drove around the Island, enjoyed every moment and had a wonderful time! It's like being in a paradise, white sand, clear blue sea, beautiful scenery, so laid back and very relaxing. Oahu's North Shore is the surfing capital of the world, and the historic town of Haleiwa is always the culmination of any North Shore trip. There are some very memorable sunsets to be seen on the North Shore, especially at this harbor. During our vacation everyday we made sure we do activities, adventures and not to miss any fun. We took a lot of pictures with my daughter pointed "The Diamond Head Crater", one of Hawaii's world-renowned icons, Diamond Head has been a welcoming symbol for the Islands since tourism's earliest days, dating back to the turn of the 20th century. The profile from the resorts meca of Waikiki is perhaps the best known image of the volcanic crater.

We also visited the Pearl Harbor Memorial Park. A place to pay respect to our late "American Heroes" during the World War II. Definitely, we all look forward to visit that historic place again...

We also visited the scene where "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost" were filmed and saw the creation of behind the scene. The amazing real size plane crash scene from the movie "War of the Worlds" starring Tom Cruise. All I can say is, we had a great time and had a wonderful experience!

Our son Dave, our daughter DeAnn, Myself and my hubby "Bob" The family cruise vacation in "The Fun Ship" called "Carnival Pride". The itinerary: Los Angeles, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. We had a wonderful time and so much fun. For me it's a perfect vacation for a family because you get to see and you're able to visit different places during the whole week! It's a worry free when it comes to meals and formal dinning experience! The meals are included in the package 24 hours a day. The best thing is if you want the room service, you get to order anything from their menu even if you want the whole menu you can have it. I advise to purchase the "Fountain Card" so you don't have to pay for the drinks (exclude alcohol) each time you need it. You can go to any of their bars on the ship and room service! All you have to do is show your fountain card. For more detailed information refer to Carnival Cruise and ask about the "Fountain Card" and the do's and don't (Carnival Cruise Policies). If you want to see and visit more places, the best thing to do is to purchase their Tour Packages or involve and join other activities, it's worth it! I always involved my family by using their facilities they offered such as spas, steam room, swimming pool, salon packages, and family party events, just to name a few! If you try to involve yourself and your family into these activities, you will have a blast and wonderful time during your cruise vacation. I feel like a "Richie Rich" because you don't use cash while in the ship, you will be using an access key card. Each time you purchased an item or dine in their specialty restaurants, just show the card and sign your name (note: don't loose it!!!). Be very careful using the card and not to get overboard on your spending while on the ship, you will be paying for a big price! The Salmonella Outbreak Involving Peanut Butter

General Mills Inc. and grocers Kroger Co. and Safeway Inc. have joined the growing list of food companies and retailers pulling items made with peanut butter amid a salmonella outbreak. The Food and Drug Administration has traced the outbreak to a Georgia plant owned by Peanut Corp. of America, which makes peanut butter and peanut paste and sells it to institutions and food companies. The outbreak may have contributed to the deaths of six people and sickened more than 470 others in 43 states. The government has advised consumers to avoid eating cookies, cakes, ice cream and other foods containing peanut butter until health officials learn more about the contamination. Peanut butter sold in jars to consumers is not included, officials said. The FDA has created a searchable list of recalled products and brands on the agency's Web site. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said the bacteria behind the outbreak is common and not an unusually dangerous strain but that the elderly or those with weakened immune systems are more at risk. At least five of the six people who died were elderly. All had salmonella when they died, though their exact causes of death haven't been determined. The salmonella outbreak is the second in two years involving peanut butter. Salmonella is the nation's leading cause of food poisoning; common symptoms include diarrhea, fever and abdominal cramps.

This has been an ongoing tradition for Cebuano's. The devotion to the Holy Child (Santo Niño)was brought to the Philippines in the 1500’s. As is so typical in these stories of religious devotion in the Philippines, the people were in a state of expectation for the Holy Child as he was prefigured in their animist religion. When Magellan arrived, things began peacefully. The Queen of Cebu, Ratu Humanay, was very touched when encountering the Santo Niño statue that Magellan brought with him. She asked to be baptized. People often time think that the Santo Niño de Cebu devotion is the same as the Infant of Prague. The Filipino devotion has an earlier history since Magellan landed in 1521 and the devotion was revived when Legazpi arrived in 1565. Magellan was killed by Lapu-lapu and the remains of the Spanish fleet hobbled back to Spain. The crew of 250 was reduced to 8. It took some years for the Spanish king to put the Philippines back on its immediate agenda.

When Miguel de Legazpi returned, he fired on the village. Probably in retaliation for Magellan’s death. Several of the huts caught fire, then the wind changed and the rest of the village was kept from burning. One of the Spanish soldiers found a chest with Spanish rope tied around it. In that chest was this statue of the Santo Niño, lying hidden for 44 years. It was the statue given by Magellan to Ratu Humanay. When I was a little girl back in my hometown Cebu, Philippines, I knew so many people who had a deep devotion to the Santo Niño. Stories about prayers answered, tragedies averted, jobs gotten, narrow escapes abounded in the lore of the answered prayer. Filipinos have an external way of showing religious devotion. They are big on ritual, fiesta, public encounters with the Divine.

Doctors in the Bahamas performed an autopsy on Jett on Monday but did not release results. However, a Bahamas undertaker told the AP the teen's death certificate had "seizure" as the cause of death.

That's down three football fields from last year. Jason Oxman, senior vice president of industry affairs at CEA, said several companies have asked to buy meeting room space, rather than booths on the showroom floor. They're more focused on meeting customers and doing business than putting on large displays, he said.

That fits with a cooler economic climate. The booths are chapels to conspicuous consumption where companies one up each other with bigger and badder gadgets displayed last year.
