Rejuvenate And Focus On Your Marriage

Many couples struggle with how to interact with each other once the children move out. Set aside time to talk about your feelings! Don't assume you know what your partner is thinking or feeling. Be sensitive to his or her reactions to this new phase in your lives. Once you're on the same page, take heart! This is a new era for your spouse and you. You've both changed through the years and now is the time to get reacquainted and rekindle your romance. Fill the empty spaces on the calendar with dates. Buy a new outfit for Friday night! Have a picnic on the living room floor. Think of all the freedom you have to explore each other now that the kids are gone!

Seek counseling if you find one or both of you is experiencing debilitating symptoms from the empty nest syndrome or if you feel alienated from your partner as he or she shows signs of withdrawal and extreme negativity!
